Prior to becoming a filmmaker, David started in the arts as a songwriter for Capitol Records. Christian recording artist Cristy too one of his songs into the top ten on the Country charts as did Billy “Crash” Craddock. Other artists who have recorded David’s songs include Lou Rawls, Marty Robbins, Tommy Cash, Tiny Tim, Little Jimmy Dickens, Tommy Roe, Rex Allen, Jr., Stella Parton, Charlene Tilton, Nancy Sinatra and Darlene Austin. David has also written music for such television shows as “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson”, “Make Me Laugh” and “Hee Haw”.
